At age 27, she was placed in the CCU unit in the hospital for three weeks. Her lungs were filled with fluid and she could not breath or walk. She lost all muscle strength. Her heart sped up in an effort to keep her going.
Susan fell over a suitcase and strained or sprained her foot and ankle. Since this kind a fall has happened before, she knew the pain could go on for weeks. She didn't want the pain and she certainly didn't want to have the pain linger.
